Working with E. M. Seabrook, Jr., Inc. we have completed a streetscape master plan for the Town of Hollywood, South Carolina. We began the planning process by soliciting citizen input, and were pleased to discover a stong community spirit, sense of caring, and optimism among Hollywood’s citizens. Some of the issues they expressed concern about included; economic development, visual appeal, preservation of the slow-paced town-in-the-country lifestyle, traffic calming, pedestrian safety and convenience, and security. In response to this, the master plan features on-street parking, sidewalks, crosswalks, medians, parks, street trees and other planting, relocation of overhead utilities, and more. In addition, there are recommendations for; parking behind the businesses that front Hwy. 162, locations for alleys to access that parking, and infill opportunities for creating a more continuous storefront.
The town is now seeking funding for implementation of the plan in phases. To view more images, go to the Public Sector section of the portfolio.
